Web design for movers, removals and hauling

Websites for movers, removals and hauling firms that turn a move into a quote.

Astra Labs designs custom websites for moving companies, man and van services, removals and clearance firms, junk removal and specialist haulers. It costs $499 one time for up to five pages, with $99 to start and the rest when you love it. The site shows your own crews and trucks, lets people size their move in a few taps, and sends you a quote request with everything you need to price it.

Many movers and haulers price by volume, so the strongest sites let the customer fill the truck or trailer themselves, then send that picture to you as the quote request.
What the site has to do

People hiring a mover are nervous. The site should calm them down.

A move means strangers carrying everything you own. A junk job means someone you have never met in your garage. These six points come from the moving and hauling sites we have designed and from what we saw on the sites they replaced.

  1. Show your crew and your truck

Real faces, a liveried van, furniture wrapped the way you wrap it. Customers want to see who will turn up. Almost every mover we worked with had these photos on Facebook or their Google listing and stock photos of other people on their website.

  2. Let them size the job themselves

Moves are priced by rooms, volume, distance and time. Let the visitor pick their home size or fill a truck or trailer, and show your own published rates where you have them. It saves you a phone call and they arrive at the quote already informed.

  3. Ask the questions you would ask on the phone

From, to, date, stairs or lift, big items, packing. A short request with those fields gets you a priceable job instead of "how much for a move?".

  4. Be clear about care

Blankets, wrapping, insurance, what happens if something breaks. Put it in plain words next to your reviews. It is what customers worry about most.

  5. Say where you go

Local runs, long distance, which regions, which countries. A map or a short list, and the price logic for distance if you have one.

  6. Make texting easy

Many moving and junk customers would rather send a photo of the pile or the room than fill in a form. A text or WhatsApp button with the message already started works better than an empty contact page.

What we found

Movers' and haulers' websites, checked one by one.

We read the current site of every moving, removals and hauling business we designed for in October 2026, 12 in all, across the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Europe. On 1 November 2026 we opened each homepage again as a phone. It is a small group, so these are observations rather than an industry average.

Movers are some of the best-reviewed small businesses we meet. Four in this group had more than a hundred Google reviews, averaging 4.8 stars or higher. Their websites did not reflect that: most were template builds with stock photos of other people's trucks, long blocks of copy for search engines, and the real proof (crew photos, wrapped furniture, happy customers) left on social media. The oldest site in the group was fixed at 800 pixels wide, a layout from before smartphones.

Method: counts from our written review notes on each old site, plus one phone visit to each homepage at 390 pixels wide. See the full method.

Moving and hauling work

Eight sites for movers and haulers.

Described by trade and region only, since these businesses did not ask to be named.

Moving companyWashington DC metro

Load the truck

What we found
A template site with stock photos, a crowded form at the top and the same review widget repeated.
What we built
The visitor picks their home size and watches boxes, padded furniture and straps go into the truck the way the crews load it, with crew size and hours from the firm's own table.
House and office removalsBrisbane, Queensland

The back of the truck

What we found
A template build with a stock palm tree hero, long tick lists and repeated enquiry buttons.
What we built
Their own crew photos carrying wrapped furniture, then their enquiry form beside a truck that fills with cartons and blanket-wrapped pieces as the visitor chooses bedrooms and services.
Junk removalSouth Florida

Fill the trailer

What we found
A blue template of cards, icon rows and repeated call buttons, with their published prices hard to find.
What we built
Their own trailer-load pricing, from a quarter load to full, made into a trailer the customer fills item by item, then sends to the crew for the real quote.
MoversManitoba, Canada

The extra mile, priced

What we found
A busy WordPress site with stock and generated illustrations, despite years of their own crew videos.
What we built
Their crew films playing in the open back of their truck, then a provincial map: pick a town and the route draws with the real distance and truck fee from their own price list, carried into the quote.
Hotshot and haulingAlberta, Canada

Text us the lane

What we found
A crowded template with generated illustrations and long question blocks.
What we built
The owner's own highway film from the cab, then the visitor picks what, from, to and when and watches it become the exact text message he likes to receive, ready to send.
Secure logisticsMichigan

Chain of custody

What we found
A builder template mixing generated and stock images with real phone photos and long text pages.
What we built
Their crane and haul films first, then a custody record the client fills in that counts and labels their boxes, one of N, while the firm's documentation steps tick off.
House clearancesEast Midlands, UK

From wherever you are

What we found
A template site with stock photos of movers, badge rows and a long question list, and none of the team's own rooms.
What we built
Their own rooms as found and as left, then their customers' home towns on a map, each drawn back to the yard, because many clients arrange a clearance from far away.
MoversCentral Europe

Wrapped with care

What we found
A template with centred headings, counters and a generated team image.
What we built
The visitor wraps a real wardrobe from the crew's photos in stretch film by dragging, because nearly every review praises that nothing arrived damaged.

Questions

Movers ask us.

How much does a website for a moving company cost?

With Astra Labs, $499 one time for up to five pages, paid as $99 to start and $400 when you love the finished site, before it goes live. Live booking with deposits ($149) and a small shop ($199) are optional. Hosting and care is $30 a month if you want it.

Can the site show my prices or work out a rough price?

Yes, if you publish rates. We have built home-size pickers, trailer-load meters and distance maps that use the mover's own price list. Where you prefer to quote every job, the same tools collect the details instead, and you reply with the price.

Customers want to send photos of what needs moving. Is that possible?

Yes. The quote button opens a text or WhatsApp message with the details already written, and the customer adds photos from their phone before sending it to you.

I use a booking or rental system already. Can I keep it?

Yes. We put your own booking or rental button on the site, so bookings keep landing exactly where they do today. That is included.

Do I own the website?

Yes. The design, the words and the domain are yours. If you ever leave, we hand everything over.

What do you need from me to start?

Your logo, some photos of your crew, trucks and jobs (phone photos are fine), your prices if you publish them, and a few lines about your business. We write the words.

Someone is planning a move this weekend.

Give them a site that shows your crew and lets them ask for a price in a minute. $499, $99 to start.
